It’s become a tradition – and such a great one it is!
Every November I run around to find the last gift for the calendar. The rest has been found or made during the year.
While buying the last gift I found this great wrapping paper/bags in ‘Tiger’ along with the shimmering ribbon. All gifts were wrapped in this and hung on a white hanger with a silver star.
I added small gifttags with numbers and it is now ready to be brought home by my parents.
Fairly quick and easy since I am using an already mixed blend.
Basically Stone Age bread is oil, seeds, nuts and eggs – and no flour. It gives the bread this absolutely crunchy taste – somewhere in between a snack and bread.
So I added eggs and oil to the blend and stirred it for a while (by hand – to honor the Stone Age ;))
Then poured the mix into small bread forms. Since the bread is so heavy and full of taste, I like to make them small.
Baked the breads for 50 minutes or so… Until they were done
It’s the day – the very day of the Halloween Party. I hurried home from work, because I knew this costume might require some time.
I have been Worning on details for days – but to be honest found the inspiration to the make up on the way home in the train.
I decided to go with purple and green makeup and spiderwebs painted to each side of the eyes. The details could have been better – but I was not prepared to use liquid eyeliner that day.
The dress was dressed up with a big elastic belt – with spiders hanging from it – and I had cut up some spiderweb stockings for gloves. Along with adding extra spiders to my hat.
My sweet friend invited us to a Halloween party for grown ups. Still with costumes and all. I offered to bake/make cupcakes in some kind of Halloween theme.
Found some great inspiration online on Pinterest. And decided to go with the Spider cupcakes.
First off I baked a lot of chocolate cupcakes – full rich bitter chocolate, to avoid it becoming too sweet with the cream topping.
Then I started to spread out all of the Oreo minis – and with some white sugar glacing painted eyes on the heads of the spiders. The pupil was small dark chocolate pieces.
The legs was made of liquorice rolls that I unfolded and cut out.
By then the cakes had been done for hours – do yourself a favor and clear out the day for things like these. It’ll steal away your time
So I made the cream topping – Danish ‘Flødebolle’ topping… Oh, so good. Added some red and yellow colors to get it in the right Halloween theme.. Then decorated the cupcakes. You can see the final result here:
I have been working on this project for quite a while. The bench is actually an old childhood memory that my grand father was restoring before he passed away 1,5 year ago.
I took it in and promised myself to make it look special…
First I gave it a good 3 layers of paint.
Then I pasted black/white photos on the sites.
Lastly I took a piece of a sweater I refashioned during winter. The piece of turtleneck was wrapped around the back of the bench – tied up with black ribbon and a small bow at the middle.
Completed the look I wanted and gave it a whole new life
Celebrated my birthday and soon moving into another apartment yesterday.. Love to do themes at my parties – so this one was Toxic – from Britney Spears Music video and Toxic Green poison in general.
Spend two days preparing this cake – green sugar paste and a radio active symbol in yellow and black. Underneath a Mudcake – with loads of chocolate
Granted, this was by no means great looking from the start – but I saw a possibility for it in my home..
First of all it was painted – then followed a long break where I went looking for the right fabric. And the right furniture nails.
Found them finally two different places- so I could finally make the finishing touches. It looks quite changed! Who’d ever have thought this looking at it before.
