Completely in love with creativity, refashion and DIY. Refashion is a statement for me - going up against badly fitted clothing, lack of the personal touch and a culture of way too much consumerism. Yes, I could throw things out and just buy more - but my upbringing taught me to use my brain in a much more creative way and use what I have in as many ways possible
Celebrated my birthday and soon moving into another apartment yesterday.. Love to do themes at my parties – so this one was Toxic – from Britney Spears Music video and Toxic Green poison in general.
Spend two days preparing this cake – green sugar paste and a radio active symbol in yellow and black. Underneath a Mudcake – with loads of chocolate
Found this dress as I went thrift shopping with my friend Kat. It’s going to be the most amazing summer dress – however it was to long and the fit in front was quite revealing.
So I found some buttons – that I had from another dress – cut the neck line open and removed some of the fabric. Then I sewed in the buttons – which made the dress have the perfect fit – along with a little edge of personality.
Granted, this was by no means great looking from the start – but I saw a possibility for it in my home..
First of all it was painted – then followed a long break where I went looking for the right fabric. And the right furniture nails.
Found them finally two different places- so I could finally make the finishing touches. It looks quite changed! Who’d ever have thought this looking at it before.
I found this picture online – which explain how I often think – on a blog called Southern Disposition.
Refashion is for me a way of living. I do it in order to develop my creativity and add that certain piece of personal statement to whatever I do.
I like to buy thinks however I might as well buy it in a thrift shop or from a friend.. that makes me feel better. And I often find myself in a shop looking at something – thinking – I could make this myself.
I am going to a party – my friend’s wedding anniversary – in Poland.
have the perfect dress to wear, which is quite simple.. So I wanted to make something special to put in my hair. Always been fascinated by the Greek goddess style, but couldn’t find a headband I liked.
So it became a DIY project What I used was two necklaces, one rubber band – and the golden sewing thread I never needed. Quite easy with a cut and some sewing.
I got one of these blankets from my parents for the living room more than a year ago.
Since then I moved apartment and suddenly lacked a nice bed cover. Somewhat by chance I used this blanket – which looked great – however way too small. So I searched for the blankets and bought 3 more – 2 of them I sewed together to the bed cover. The two others was each one made into big pillows finishing the look.
Our cat immediately approved and thought it was made especially for her.
I found this knitted turtleneck – it had some old-fashioned flower decorations on it which I immediately removed as I got in – and before I took the picture.
I do adore turtlenecks – yet this one was quite loose – so I cut the fabric off – down to the edge of the stitching… And it transform into a boat neck blouse.
Quite easy transformation – no sewing at all.
DIY and creativity is a personal statement and a life style
